Every 2 days, a woman or a girl dies because of violence in Canada, according to the 2022 reports of the Canadian Femicide Observatory for Justice and Accountability.

To prevent these femicides, we need to continue providing support services dedicated to young women who are victims of abuse. The continuum of services we offer allows us to support young abused women who come to us for help at different stages of their lives and to provides individualized support for each young woman based on their needs.

The women who seek help from L'Arrêt-Source have already experienced several forms of abuse: domestic or spousal violence, honor-based violence, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, human trafficking, cyber-violence, and they continue to suffer the impacts of the abuse: poverty, drug addiction, homelessness, mental health problems, etc.

The women we counsel come from all social backgrounds and all regions of Quebec. All of them suffer or have suffered from abuse and are determined to make changes in their lives.
